Nutritional supplement for dogs with lower urinary tract infections – acute, chronic and recurrent inflammation. Preserves the normal function of the urinary tract.
Cranberry Extract (Vaccinum macrocarpon) – Proanthocyanidins 200 mg
Proatocyanidins are naturally occuring powerful antioxidants extracted from the North American cranberry. They also help to reduce the ability of some bacteria to attach to the bladder lining.
Glucosamine sulphate – 150 mg
Glucosamine sulphate is a glucosamine derivative derived from exoskeleton of crustaceans and stimulates the synthesis of glycosaminoglycan (GAG), which protects the sensitive urothelium and prevents bacteria from binding to urothelial cells.
D-mannose – 100 mg
D-Mannose is a natural occuring simple sugar that appears to be a safe, practical alternative for the treatment for UTI’s caused by E. coli and other bacteria assosiated with it (Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Proteus, Klebsiella spp.). The bladder lining is comprised of polysachharide molecules. Finger-like projections on the cell surface of E. coli bacteria adhere to these molecules, initiating an infection. In the presence of D-Mannose, preferentially attach to D-Manose molecules forming a complex which is expelled with next voiding.
