Nutritional supplement for cats with lower urinary tract infections – acute, chronic and recurrent inflammation. It is also recommended in the presence of crystalluria and urinary stones, as well as after catheterization and operative removal of urinary stones. Preserves the normal function of the urinary tract.
Extract Uva ursi – Arbutin 100 mg
Uva ursi contains arbutin which converts to hydroquinone in the urinary tract. Hydroquinone is an antiseptic which veterinary scientists believe gives Uva ursi its powerful ability to fight cat and dog urinary tract infection.
D-mannose – 80 mg
D-Mannose is a natural occuring simple sugar that appears to be a safe, practical alternative for the treatment for UTI’s caused by E. coli and other bacteria assosiated with it (Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Proteus, Klebsiella spp.). The bladder lining is comprised of polysachharide molecules. Finger-like projections on the cell surface of E. coli bacteria adhere to these molecules, initiating an infection. In the presence of D-Mannose, preferentially attach to D-Manose molecules forming a complex which is expelled with next voiding.
Glucosamine sulphate – 70 mg
Glucosamine sulphate is a glucosamine derivative derived from exoskeleton of crustaceans and stimulates the synthesis of glycosaminoglycan (GAG), which protects the sensitive urothelium and prevents bacteria from binding to urothelial cells.
